Maternity Care
Becoming a mother is a special time in a woman's life, and at Merit Health River Region, we are dedicated to providing women and newborns with quality care. Upon arriving, you are welcomed by specially trained staff who are there to assist you. Fetal monitoring enables your doctor to access your baby's well-being during labor from multiple areas. We also employ an infant security system to help protect your infant.
Comfortable postpartum rooms have a roomy shower and home-like furnishings, including sleeping accommodations for your partner. Nursery staff are available to assist with breast feeding. A lactation consultant, certified with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, may be available during your stay, as well as be available as a resource, via phone, once you go home.
Merit Health River Region is equipped with a 10-bed Level II intensive care nursery. The majority of babies are born without serious complications.
