Infusion Services
Merit Health River Region provides infusion services for patients who require frequent infusions of medications including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, patients requiring intravenous antibiotics, patients with blood disorders and other patients who require intravenous treatments but are not hospitalized.
Infusion therapy is the introduction of fluid, blood products and/or medications into a patient's circulatory system. At Merit Health River Region, we provide infusion therapy in an outpatient setting, offering convenience and comfort to patients as well as a highly effective treatment mode for a variety of health conditions, from chronic disease to pain management. Here, patients are treated by an experienced team of professionals who specialize in infusion therapy and vascular treatment, including pharmacists, infusion nurses and technicians. A physician is on site to monitor for possible side effects or to consult.
Infusion services include:
- Blood transfusions
- Diagnostic testing
- Disease management
- Hormone therapy
- Immunosuppressants
- IV antibiotics, anti-fungals and steroids
- IV therapy
- Patient and caregiver education and training in catheter care
Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
